Science Pub: Clean Energy

July 11 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

In partnership with Warren Wilson College, Asheville Museum of Science presents a special three-part series on community sustainability through its popular monthly Science Pub at The Collider, a co-sponsor of the event. In June the topic was Healthy Building Design; in July the topic is Clean Energy. The summer series concludes in August with a discussion about Land Stewardship.

On Thursday, July 11, hear local updates on clean energy issues by Buncombe County Government Commissioner Brownie Newman followed by a panel of Warren Wilson alumni in the renewable energy field with Sugar Hollow Solar, Community Action Opportunities, and Headwaters Solar.

Science Pub events are free to the public, with free drinks and light snacks, thanks to the generous sponsorship of  Wicked Weed Brewing, Ingles Markets, and the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority. Doors open at 5:30 PM, and talks begin at 6 PM.

For those interested in seeing this talk as well as helping AMOS set up and/or break down this event as a volunteer, please e-mail info@ashevillescience.org.
